This sweet little squirrel is named after 'Sue' — one of the lovely sewists met during a visit to Bluemango in India, where the cutest little Indian squirrel (known locally as 'aneel') proved too charming not to turn into a toy design! The pattern has some small pieces, so it's best suited to sewers with some experience — if you're just starting out, one of the Funky Friends Factory easy patterns would be a better first project.

You will need:

Main fabric — 27cm × 110cm (11in × 43˝in)
Plain body fabric — 45cm × 55cm (18in × 22in)
Patterned tail fabric — 35cm × 55cm (14in × 22in)
15mm (⅝in) brown craft eyes
12mm craft eyes or beads
Felt scrap for nose — 2.5cm × 2.5cm (1in × 1in)

Recommended fabrics: Quilting cottons work beautifully. Minky or cuddle fabric gives a lovely soft result, and fake fur on the tail creates a wonderfully fluffy finish.
