    Recommended for the exterior: mid-weight canvas (6–8 oz.), dry oilskin, waxed canvas/twill, or vinyl. For the lining: quilting cotton or waterproof canvas.

    • Fusible Woven Interfacing (Pellon SF101 or similar, 51 cm/20" wide): 1.2 m (1⅓ yd) for Small / 1.6 m (1¾ yd) for Regular
    • Handbag Zipper for exterior pocket: 20.3 cm (8") or 19.1 cm (7½") zipper tape for Small; 25.4 cm (10") or 24.1 cm (9½") zipper tape for Regular
    • Mesh fabric for interior pocket: 20.3 x 41 cm (8" x 16") piece + 46 cm (½ yd) of 25 mm (1") fold-over elastic, or substitute with a fat quarter of quilting cotton and 0.25 m (¼ yd) of interfacing
    • Cotton webbing (25 mm / 1" wide): 69 cm (¾ yd) for handles OR 1.4 m (1½ yd) for crossbody strap/strap holders OR 2.3 m (2½ yd) total for both
    • Optional Handbag Zipper for recessed top: 30.5 cm (12") for Small / 40.6 cm (16") for Regular
    • Optional crossbody strap hardware: (2) 25 mm (1") D-rings, (1) 25 mm (1") strap slider, and (2) 25 mm (1") swivel snaps
    • Optional closure (if not using recessed zipper): 18 mm Magnetic Snap, Loxx Fastener, or one 15 mm Metal Snap
    • Additional tools: polyester thread, water-soluble pen or tailor’s chalk, cutting mat, ruler, rotary cutter, size 90/14 or 100/16 needle, glue or glue pen, pinking shears, safety pin
    • Note: Zipper tape width assumed to be 3.2 cm (1¼"). Longer zippers make assembly easier. Nylon zipper tape is recommended and easy to sew through.
