Monsterfabriken Patterns

After several years of pattern making for Swedish fashion and sport brands, Monsterfabriken decided to make their experience available for home sewists. They are essentially pattern makers, with a primary focus on the fit, together with making patterns easy to follow and alter.

Most patterns have two different size ranges, but it's not a simple linear re-sizing of the pattern, more a careful adaptation to ensure a great fit. The larger size range is therefore adapted to a curvier body.

Monsterfabriken believes that making your own clothes is a step towards a better environment. That making something from scratch makes you appreciate the work behind it.

Amalia is a flattering feminine dress and top with many variations. The fit is neat but loose and the tightness at the waist can be adjusted with the elastic at the back. You can choose between long puffy sleeves or short and more slender ones. The dress can be made in various lengths and you can also choose to make the skirt with a ruffle.

It has a yoke at the back, buttons at the front neck and hidden sideseam pockets that are also attached at the waistseam in order to prevent bulkiness on the hips.

The bust darts ensure an optimal fit across the chest, and you can choose between three sleeve lengths: a long sleeve and a short sleeve, both with elastic at the cuff, as well as a short ruffle sleeve. This top is ideal for lightweight shirting fabrics, linen, or tencel.

Vera is a faithful companion in the form of a vest that you will want to use all year round. The material determines the area of use both in terms of style butalso the degree of warmth. The outer fabric can be sewn in everything from denim, corduroy, wool tweed, twill and even linen. It can be lined with teddy, fleece, flannel or a thinner lining fabric. It can be quilted with double layers of fabric and either with or without batting in between.

You can also choose whether you want to sew with welt pockets or patched pockets. Vera can be sewn either with a bias tape around the edges or as a completely reverse stitched garment and regardless of that, you can choose whether you want to be able to use your vest with one side out or the other!
