Dynamite may be a baby donkey, but don’t underestimate him — like his namesake, he comes in a small package but delivers a BIG kick! With his perky, upright ears and cute, chubby tummy, he’s perfect for both hugs and home décor. You’ll love the way he looks in different colours and fabrics, and you can use felt or fleece for his mane to add extra texture.

Recommended fabrics: Most fabrics will work. Quilting cottons were used in the sample; for a softer toy use cuddle, fleece or long-pile fabrics. The mane and tail tip can be made from felt or fleece.

Specific requirements:

Main fabric – 44 cm × 110 cm (17¼ in × 43 in).

Dark contrast fabric – 15 cm × 55 cm (6 in × 22 in).

Light contrast fabric – 11.5 cm × 33 cm (4½ in × 13 in).

Black felt for mane & tail tip – 10 cm × 17 cm (4 in × 7 in).

White felt (optional) – 3 cm × 9 cm (1¼ in × 3½ in).

Polyester thread in matching colour.

Marking tool (fabric pencil or tailor’s chalk).

15 mm craft eyes (or embroidered for baby-safe version).

Standard sewing supplies: scissors, pins, needles, toy-stuffing material.
